The NBA free agency season hasn’t begun yet. But the Washington Wizards already have some roster turnover. On Sunday, Jim Meehan of the Spokesman-Review reported that Johnathan Williams signed a contract to play for Galatasaray in Turkey’s Basketball Super League (BSL) and will also play in this season’s FIBA Europe Basketball Champions League. The team is based in Istanbul.
Williams averaged 3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 games for the Wizards last season after starting the fall with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel. He came to Washington after the team suffered numerous frontcourt injuries in December, including Thomas Bryant, Moritz Wagner and Rui Hachimura.
