The NBA announced the 2016-17 All-Defensive teams on Monday afternoon and John Wall just missed the cut to earn the second All-Defensive team honors of his career.
Wall received 14 first-place votes, the fifth most among guards, but seventh overall in overall votes. He finished behind Patrick Beverley and Chris Paul (who earned First Team honors), Tony Allen and Danny Green (who earned Second Team honors), as well as Avery Bradley and Klay Thompson in the final tally.
It didn’t take long for Wall to offer his stance on the voting after the results came out:
