It wasn’t easy, but the Washington Mystics (6-6) defeated the Indiana Fever (1-14) on Saturday night, 82-77. Washington now moves up to fifth in the WNBA standings while Indiana remains last.
In a game that went back and forth from start to finish, the Mystics went on a 10-2 run from being down with 5:56 left in the game to 2:11 left with Ariel Atkins, Tina Charles and Theresa Plaisance scoring during that key run. This run turned a 67-66 deficit to a 76-69 lead in that time, which effectively put the game out of reach.
Washington entered today’s game very short handed.
