It took an entire month to play the game, but the Washington Mystics (15-7) defeated the Las Vegas Aces (15-8) on Monday night, 99-70. Except that these teams only played one half of basketball with Washington winning that half 48-34.
Like the first half, Washington thoroughly dominated the Aces scoring and rebounding the basketball. LaToya Sanders scored a season-high 18 points in this game but only scored 4 points earlier tonight. Elena Delle Donne was also spectacular, scoring 13 points in the second half and 21 overall.
Contrary to my preview earlier, the Mystics were in fact able to get Emma Meesseman and Kim Mestdagh in the game.
