LaToya Sanders had the hardest job going into Game 2 — guarding 6”8 Liz Cambage. Although Cambage ended the night with a team-high 23 points, Sanders fought on the defensive end every time she was in the backcourt. There’s only so much a defender can do because Cambage is just so long.
On the offensive end, Sanders finished the game with an impressive 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks. What she struggled with on defense, she made up on offense.
After the game, I caught up with Sanders about winning Game 2, guarding Liz Cambage, and what her team needs to do to secure their third, and final, win in the five-game series.
