Congratulations to the Boston Celtics, who won the 2024 NBA Finals, 4 games to 1 against the Dallas Mavericks last night. This is Boston’s 18th championship, more than any other team in the league. In addition, this championship is their first since the 2007-08 season, led by Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and longtime franchise player Paul Pierce.
Pierce also shares a connection with one of the current Celtics championship team’s players: Both he and Kristaps Porzingis also played for the Washington Wizards.
For Pierce, he only played for Washington in the 2014-15 season, but played a key role in helping the Wizards get to the second round of the playoffs that season.
