Ian Mahinmi Injury: Wizards Center to Miss 6 Weeks While Undergoing PRP on Knees

Washington Wizards center Ian Mahinmi will undergo platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment on both of his knees, which will hold him out for "approximately six weeks," the team announced on Tuesday in a release, via Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

Mahinmi has been limited to just a single game this season due to his knees and decided to undergo the PRP treatment after consulting with a team physician and Dr. James Andrews.

On Oct. 14, two weeks before the start of the regular season, the 30-year-old underwent surgery on his left knee but "aggravated patellar tendinitis in his right knee" along with suffering a bone bruise on his left knee during rehab, per the release.
