WASHINGTON -- Boston Celtics players struggled to maintain straight faces while denying that they intentionally wore all black to Friday’s Game 6 against the Washington Wizards.
With a chance to close out the Wizards in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Celtics arrived at the Verizon Center dressed in black. The Wizards had done the same before a regular-season meeting in January that was dubbed the “funeral game.”
“I think it just happened, that everybody just happened to be wearing it, maybe,” Celtics guard Avery Bradley said. “I don’t know. It wasn’t planned.
