This game promised a lot, but did not quite deliver. The first quarter still seemed like a game to decide the top seed of the group, but when France only scored 9 points in the second quarter while Germany scored 24, it was clear that garbage time started early. France just could not muster consistent offense, and Germany lighted it up from all ranges, shooting 67 percent from deep in the second quarter.
France did make a Wizardesque-garbage-time-run in the fourth quarter, to cut the deficit from 24 down to 12, on the back of Courdinier spark off the bench, but then former Wizard Bonga and Theis sinked back-to-back threes to bring it back to 18.
