Emma Meesseman was named one of EuroBasket Women 2017’s All-Star Five last Sunday after leading Belgium to the bronze medal. Spain forward Alba Torrens won the MVP of the tournament, while Evanthia Maltsi of Greece, Endene Miyem of France, and Cecilia Zandalasini of Italy rounded out the rest of the team.
Meesseman averaged 17.5 points a game, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in EuroBasket Women 2017 in six games. Her scoring took a hit in the semifinals to Spain, the eventual winners when she scored just five points. As you might expect, the Spanish smothered her when Meesseman had the ball, but she still managed to dish five assists and grab six rebounds anyway.
