“Little A” as the Washington Mystics call her has been giving real big energy as Ariel Atkins made the 2021 WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. Atkins has always been trouble for defenses on the court so it’s no surprise she’s being recognized for it.
With this nod, this makes four consecutive seasons she’s made an All-Defensive team, the first player in WNBA history to do so in their first four seasons. Atkins also is the only player in Mystics franchise history to make team four times consecutively as well and joins former player Alana Beard in being the only players to have the honor four times for the Washington franchise.
