5 Goals for Washington Wizards Forward Kelly Oubre Jr. in 2017-18

After having a somewhat underwhelming rookie year in which he averaged just 3.7 PPG, Oubre improved in his sophomore season. Playing almost ten more minutes per game, he nearly doubled his scoring average. He was also more active on the glass, averaging 3.3 rebounds in comparison to 2.1 the year before. These numbers are encouraging, but they don’t tell the whole story.

He demonstrated little growth as a ball-handler and playmaker, still unable to effectively create off-the-dribble. His shooting remains streaky, which is problematic when playing alongside John Wall. His three-point shooting actually regressed, efficiency wise.
