On Monday, the Washington Mystics announced that they selected Aaliyah Edwards from the University of Connecticut with the No. 6 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Edwards, a forward played four seasons for the Huskies starting in 99 of her 132 games. UConn made the Final Four in three of her four seasons. In the 2023-24 season, she averaged 18.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
During her college career, Edwards also won numerous Big East Conference awards, including being the Sixth Woman of the Year (2020-21), Most Improved Player (2022-23) and First Team (2022-23 and 2023-24).
