The Wizards have managed to shed the Dwight Howard contract from their books in exchange for taking Memphis Grizzlies’ CJ Miles contract:
The Grizzlies are trading CJ Miles to Washington for Dwight Howard, league source tells ESPN. Deal saves Memphis $3.1M. Grizzles will waive or trade Howard, per source.

The price to cover up the disastrous player option given to Howard by Grunfeld is that the Wizards will absorb the extra $3.1 million in salary owed to CJ Miles to facilitate the locker-room reboot that will give Thomas Bryant and Mo Wagner a clean slate to prove their talents in the center position.
