I think the Washington Wizards are actually sitting in a good spot as we head into the NBA Draft. Year one of the Ted Leonsis era has gone well except with the results on the floor, but that will change. The franchise and all of us fans have went through the hard part this past season and will only go up from here.
The team has a good young nucleus with John Wall, Jordan Crawford, JaVale McGee, Andray Blatche, Trevor Booker, and Nick Young to build from. Wall is going to be a superstar and the Jordan Crawford trade will go down as the best trade in franchise history in my opinion.
Going into the NBA Draft we have 3 of the first 34 selections and lots of salary cap room. We have options and can go in any number of directions. I don't care that people are calling this a weak draft because you never really know, it will be about 3 years before you will know whether or not that's accurate.
As a lifelong Bullets/Wizards fan I'm excited about the teams future and feel we're on the right path, but it will not happen overnight and patience is needed. What are your thoughts on where the Wizards are at in regards to our rebuilding?
