WSU wide receiver Dom Williams found out his grandmother, who raised him from birth, died only a day after he heard her voice after the Cal game on Oct. 3. With a heavy heart, he played against Oregon and came up with big plays. The next day, he flew down for the funeral.
Dom Williams tracked the ball in the air as he raced downfield, open on the left side. Just as he’d done so many times in his Washington State career, he leaped, arms outstretched, ready to pull in the pass and turn toward daylight.
But this time, it wasn’t to be.
