PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State players captured four singles wins and four doubles victories during the first day of play at the 2019 Cougar Classic Tennis Tournament, Friday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The day began with doubles play where WSU's Melisa Ates and Hikaru Sato advanced to the Crimson Flight semifinal after defeating Seattle's Grossman and Lancaster 6-0 followed by a 6-2 victory over Braeden and Nelson from Eastern Washington. In the Gray Doubles flight, Savanna Ly-Nguyen and Carla Quadflieg also reached the semifinal after posting a 6-3 win over Seattle's Sabotic and Sanabria in the first round and a 6-0 victory over Montana's Regaunt and Walker.
