PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women’s tennis team had an impressive first day at the 2015 Cougar Classic Friday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
In the doubles flight, WSU’s Barbora Michalkova and Victoria Matejevic began play with a resounding victory over the Lewis-Clark State College pair of Kianna Arthur and Katelyn Smedley, 6-1. The duo then posted a victory over Montana State’s duo of Naomi Holopainen and Molly Crum, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals.
Trang Huynh and Aneta Miksovska continued the Cougars strong showing by defeating Montana’s Lidia Dukic and Montana State’s Shelby Cerkovnik, 6-2.
