WSU officially inducts its newest athletic hall of fame class

PULLMAN — Washington State honored the 25 members of its 2015 athletics hall of fame class at halftime during Saturday’s game against Wyoming.

Former Cougars running back Steve Broussard set nine WSU rushing records from 1985-89 and was the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round draft pick in 1990. He is now the offensive coordinator at Pasadena (Calif.) City College, and he had to miss his team’s game against Los Angeles Harbor College to make it to Pullman for his Hall of Fame induction.

It was worth the trip though, Broussard said. In an emotional acceptance speech at the induction dinner on Friday night, he said “Pullman saved my life” and said he wished his recently deceased mother had lived long enough to witness his induction.
