SEATTLE -- Michael Williams and Chandler Teigen led the No. 27 Washington State men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish while Vallery Korir finished 19th in the women's race at the NCAA West Region Cross Country Championships Friday at Seattle's Jefferson Park Golf Course.
Williams, a senior from Richland, Wash., finished 12th on the 10,000 meters course in a time of 29 minutes 48.3 seconds, improving on his 17th-place finish in 2016. He had the lead from the 2000 meters split through the 6k split but fell back in the final 4000 meters.
