WSU football recruiting: DE Dallas Hobbs signs NLI

Just barely a week after giving his verbal to Washington State, defensive end Dallas Hobbs has signed his national letter of intent with the Cougars.

Hobbs spent 2016 playing at Deerfield Academy, a prepartory school in Massachusetts but attended Cedar Rapid Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Originally committed to UConn, Hobbs’ flip to Washington State isn’t a big surprise considering former Huskies coach Bob Diaco was fired the day after Christmas. After losing former commits Aisa Kelemete (Boise State) and Joe Tryon (Washington), new d-line coach Jeff Phelps and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch made a lasting impression on Hobbs who flipped from UCONN to WSU during his official visit two weekends ago.
