PROVO, Utah – The Washington State men's golf team carded 4-under par 284 in the first round of the PING Cougar Classic Friday, April 22, to highlight the first day of play for the Cougs at the Riverside Country Club.
The Cougars had to battle through two weather delays in the first round but were still able to shoot under par in the opening round of the PING Cougar Classic, carding 4-under. WSU ended the first round in sixth place on the team leaderboard, as the Cougars had four golfers shoot par-or-better.
Freshman Peter Jung shot a team-best 2-under 70 to end the opening round tied for 17th on the player leaderboard.
