PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's soccer team could not find the back of the net during their first home match of the season, tying the University of Portland, 0-0, at Lower Soccer Field Thursday night. Over 2,400 fans came out to watch the Cougars, who took 18 shots in the game and forced the Pilots' goalkeeper into seven saves.
For the second game in a row, the Cougar offense peppered the goal with opportunities. WSU's best look of the match came in the 75th minute when sophomore defender Reese Tappan ran onto a loose clearance at the top of the Portland box.
