WSU defensive line coach Joe Salave'a is on shortlist for induction into the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame

Washington State defensive line coach Joe Salave’a has been name a finalist for the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame class of 2017, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced Tuesday morning.

Salave’a, was one of 18 finalists selected from a field of more than 200 nominees. The Cougars’ defensive line coach is a native of Leone, American Samoa, and he’s now in his fifth season at WSU. Salave’a is known for his recruiting prowess, and in the time he’s been in Pullman, he’s opened a pipeline to WSU for players from Samoa.
