Halfway through the season, Washington State’s new defensive coordinator has already impressed his peers.
Oregon coach Mark Helfrich was very complimentary Tuesday when asked to evaluate rookie defensive coordinator Alex Grinch’s new-look Cougars’ defense.
“They’re the best team we’ve played all year in terms of disguise and playing every coverage they have from a single shell,” Helfrich said in his Tuesday press conference.
The Oregon coach said the first thing that jumped out at him when he watched WSU’s defense on film was how hard the Cougars’ defensive front plays.
