The Cougars’ defensive secondary looks younger than ever these days, but reports out of practice indicate that that’s by design.
True freshman cornerback Darrien Molton, a former Rivals three-star recruit out of Chaparral (Temecula, Calif.) High, has been running with the first team defense in practice in place of sophomore Marcellus Pippins.
Pippins started the final three games of 2014 at cornerback for the Cougars, and held on to that position all through fall camp. But with the season opener against Portland State about a week away, it appears that Molton might get the start over Pippins.
