Washington State quarterback Luke Falk and receiver Gabe Marks have both been named to the Maxwell Award watch list, the Maxwell Award Football Club announced Tuesday.
The Maxwell Award is given to the most outstanding player in college football every year, and previous winners include Oregon’s Marcus Mariota (2013), Stanford’s Andrew Luck (2011) and Florida’s Tim Tebow (2008). Alabama running back Derrick Henry won the award in 2015 after rushing for an SEC-record 1,896 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Falk, a junior from Logan, Utah, set a school record in 2015 with 38 touchdown passes, and finished the season second in school history with 4,566 passing yards.
