WSU Closes Road Trip with Victory at San Diego

SAN DIEGO – True freshman Borislava Hristova led the Cougars in scoring and rebounds, as the Washington State women’s basketball team (7-1) concluded its nine-day road trip with a victory at San Diego, 78-72, Sunday afternoon. Hristova scored 21 points to lead the way for the Cougars, and was assisted by sophomore Caila Hailey, who scored a career-high 11 points. Hristova was also WSU’s leading rebounder against the Toreros (7-1), pulling in five rebounds.

The Cougars shot .542 (32-of-59) from the field to hand San Diego its first loss of the season. Sophomore Pinelopi Pavlopoulou dished out a career-high four assists to go along with four assists from senior Dawnyelle Awa.
