Pullman, Wash. - The Washington State women’s tennis team won both the singles and doubles flights during the final day of play at the WSU Invitational Sunday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
WSU’s Donika Bashota captured the singles title with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Gonzaga’s Sophie Whittle. Bashota reached the finals by defeating Cougar teammate Trang Huynh, 6-3, 6-3. Gonzaga’s Whittle reached the singles finals after defeating Washington State’s Barbora Michalkova 6-4, 6-2.
The Cougars placed three of their four doubles teams in the semifinals, while also having three of the four singles semifinalists.
