WSU baseball pitcher Damon Jones drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies

Washington State pitcher Damon Jones was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday in the 18th round of the Major League Baseball draft. Jones is the first Cougar drafted this year.

Jones, a 6-foot-5, 230-pounder from Twin Falls, Idaho, finished his redshirt junior season in 2017 with a 4.72 ERA for the Cougars.

The left-handed pitcher started 13 games for WSU and posted a 3-3 record.
