While WSU puts an emphasis on Spokane with the football program, including playing the spring game in at Joe Albi Stadium each spring, the WSU baseball program turns the Tri-Cities into its home away from Pullman. That will continue on Tuesday when WSU hosts Portland at Gesa Stadium in Pasco.
The Cougars have been playing home games in Pasco for five years, but thus far the results on the field haven't been as great as they might hope. WSU is just 2-5 in seven Tri-Cities games since 2011. The crowds have been excellent, however, with WSU averaging 2,500 fans per game, according to the Tri-City Herald.
