Washington State and Gonzaga baseball renewed their rivalry on Tuesday in Pullman. The Cougars struggled in a 9-0 loss but, at the end of the day, there was something more important than the final score.
In the sixth inning, Gonzaga freshman catcher Stephen Lund was sliding into second when he suffered a serious leg injury. There isn’t much video of the incident, but eyewitness reports make me think we should be grateful for that.
Rooting for Gonzaga's Steve Lund. Slid in to second hard, late, and direct. Snapped his lower leg.
