The Washington State women’s basketball team had a historic win over No. 7 UCLA on Friday night with an 82-73 victory against the Bruins.
The win - the Cougars’ second in a row to improve to 2-2 in Pac-12 play - was the biggest upset in program history and is an impressive add to their NCAA Tournament resume.
Freshman guard Chanelle Molina scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Washington State to its first top-10 win since the Cougars defeated the Maryland Terrapins 70-64 back in November 2014. Sophomore Pinelopi Pavlopoulou and senior Ivana Kmetsovka added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
