PULLMAN, Wash. – For the second-straight year, the Washington State University women’s basketball team was recognized as part of the NCAA’s Public Recognition Awards for the 2013-14 academic year, the organization announced Wednesday.
“I’m very proud of June Daugherty, her staff and student-athletes for not only achieving success on the court, but for their dedication to academics as well,” said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos.
The honor is given to programs whose multi-year Academic Progress Rate scores are among the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort.
