PULLMAN, Wash. – Led by a hat trick by junior Morgan Weaver, Washington State soccer (12-5-1, 5-5-1), came out victorious in a heated rivalry match with Washington (8-10-1, 3-8-0) in the Boeing Apple Cup Series Friday night. From the outset Weaver was in control of the game for the Cougars as the star junior found the back of the net for the first time in the 11' on what would be the first of nine shots on goal for WSU. Taking a ball from Hanna Goff on the left side of the box, Weaver cut back to the middle a ripped a shot center frame, over the top of Huskies keeper to put WSU up early.
