Top-seeded men’s singles player Caio Zampieri of Newport Coast, Calif., beat Chris Lilley of Bellevue 6-0, 6-2 and top-seeded women’s singles player Petra Rampre of Virginia beat Audrey Scott of Seattle 6-1, 6-0 in Wednesday’s Round of 32 action at the Washington State Open tennis tournament at the Seattle Tennis Club.
Competition continues through Sunday.
Open division competitors have a shot at $22,000 in total winnings.
In doubles play, on the men’s side, No. 1 Pablo Albano and Zampieri beat Marco Bornstein of Seattle and Nishaant Limaye of Lake Forest Park, 6-2, 6-1. On the women’s side, Julia Lioubarski of Sammamish and Kana Moriyama of Redmond defeated Andreana Rocha of Kirkland and Viktoriya Zaytseva of Bellevue, 6-1, 6-1.
