LIHUE, Hawaii — The Washington State men’s golf team is tied for third place with Arizona after one round of competition at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at Wailua Golf Course.
Washington State (+2, 290) is 14 strokes behind No. 7 Texas, leading the field with a total of 276 (-2) after Wednesday’s opening round. California is in second after shooting even-par 288. Washington is tied for ninth at 8-over 296.
Tied for fifth, junior Nick Mandell leads the Cougars at 2-under 70. Mandell sits three strokes back of leader Beau Hossler of Texas (-5, 67) after carding three birdies on the day.
