SAN FRANCISCO – June Daugherty and Pete Carroll share a common trait — they radiate with the kind of bubbly enthusiasm that belies their age.
The Seahawks coach is probably the youngest 64-year-old on the planet.
Meanwhile Daugherty, the 59-year-old Washington State women’s basketball coach, shows no signs of slowing down as she begins her 27th season and eighth in Pullman.
“Haven’t given it one thought,” she said when asked about retirement. “There’s too much in front of me. And I’m having too much fun.”
In fact, Daugherty recently signed a six-year contract extension that’ll keep her on the Cougars sideline until 2021.
