LUBBOCK, Texas --A trio of freshmen led the Washington State volleyball team (10-1) Friday night to a 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 win over Texas Tech (10-3) at the Red Raiders’ Lone Star Showdown in Lubbock.
WSU freshman McKenna Woodford (Chandler, Ariz.) led match with a career-high 17 kills, hit .538, had four blocks and five digs. Fellow freshmen Taylor Mims (Billings, Mont.) and Claire Martin (Bremerton, Wash.) combined for 11 kills while Mims led the match with six blocks and Martin added five blocks. Kyra Holt contributed nine kills and four blocks. Haley MacDonald had 34 assists, four blocks and six digs.
