The USA moves to 3-0 in Group A, Australia drops to 2-1.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Former Washington State men's basketball standout, Klay Thompson (2009-11), was victorious against his former teammates Aron Baynes (2006-09) and Brock Motum (2010-13), as the United States defeated Australia, 98-88, Wednesday in Group A play at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The United States (3-0) leads Group A, followed by Australia (2-1). Two more games remain for each team in Group A, as group play concludes Sunday, Aug. 14.
Baynes was the lone former Cougar to start the game, finishing with 4 points and 3 rebounds in 17 minutes.
