TUCSON, Ariz. / SPOKANE, Wash. — Washington State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams began the 2024 schedule Saturday as they competed at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta from Drachman Stadium and the Sam Adams Classic on the campus of Whitworth University.

Sophomore from Ogden, Utah, got the Cougars off to a strong start with a third-place finish in the women's javelin throw after she launched a PR by over seven feet on her second attempt in flight two. Lindquist's 49.90m/ 163' 8" throw was the ninth-best mark in Washington State history (new javelin implement introduced in 1999) and also would have ranked 43rd in the nation and seventh in the Pac-12 last season.
