NEW YORK, N.Y. – Washington State safety Jalen Thompson was selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Supplemental Draft by the Arizona Cardinals Wednesday.
Thompson is the 11th Cougar drafted under head coach Mike Leach and is the first Cougar selected in the NFL Supplemental Draft since quarterback Timm Rosenbach was taken by the Phoenix Cardinals in the first round of the 1989 Supplemental Draft. Thompson becomes the third Cougar drafted in 2019 after left tackle Andre Dillard was taken in the first round by the Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Gardner Minshew II was selected in the sixth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
