PULLMAN, Wash. -- Angela Whyte, an assistant track and field coach at Washington State University, and Liga Velvere, a volunteer coach at WSU, will compete for Canada and Latvia, respectively, in the IAAF World Indoor Championships, March 17-20, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
Whyte, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, was the top Canadian and fifth overall in the women’s 60m hurdles at the 2016 Hershey Indoor Track & Field Canadian Championships at the Claude-Robillard Sport Facility in Montreal last month. A member of Team Canada at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, she ran the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.
