Seattle police gang detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting early Thursday that left a 17-year-old wounded in the Georgetown neighborhood.
The victim was standing on a sidewalk in the 6300 block of Sixth Avenue South just before 3 a.m. when shots were fired from a black SUV, police said. The teen was struck in the leg.
Officers arrived just as the victim was being loaded into a car by friends, according to police. Seattle Fire Department medics took the teen to Harborview Medical Center with what police described as a non-life-threatening wound.
Detectives found 60 spent shell casings as well as damage to cars and buildings.
