With the Washington State Cougars' string of success in 2015, the worst two-word phrase in sports is taking on a new meaning.
I remember it well. The crimson-clad Cougs were out to a 31-14 fourth-quarter lead over the Colorado Buffaloes – the punch-line of the Pac-12 at the time. With Pullman hanging on to its last gasp of summer air, which was accompanied by choruses of the WSU fight song, nothing could be better. College football bliss.
The next 30 minutes, however, were a different story. Looking for his fifth touchdown pass on the day, WSU QB Connor Halliday forced a ball into the end zone and it was intercepted.
