SPOKANE — Spokane police say an SUV swerved onto a sidewalk, striking and killing a 68-year-old woman who was pushing a stroller.
Cmdr. Brad Arleth says the woman died at the scene Tuesday morning, while a 4-year-old boy who was with her suffered minor injuries.
Arleth says a drug recognition expert determined the SUV driver was likely impaired by drugs. The Spokesman-Review reports the 34-year-old SUV driver was arrested on investigation of vehicular homicide.
The Spokane County medical examiner’s office identified the pedestrian as Marla Langley. Police say she was related to the boy.
