Storm can’t overcome early deficit, falls to Washington

Abby Bishop scored 17 points, but the Storm fell behind by 20 in the first quarter and could not recover in an 87-74 loss to the Mystics on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

The Storm (5-14) allowed the Mystics to score 34 first-quarter points and 53 first-half points, both season highs. Seattle has lost seven consecutive road games.

Ivory Latta made four three-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the Mystics to their fourth consecutive victory.

Tayler Hill added 18 points for Washington (10-6) and All-Star Stefanie Dolson added 17 points and nine rebounds. The Mystics scored 34 first-quarter points and 53 first-half points, both season highs.
