The apparent deadline for Russell Wilson to strike a deal on a contract extension with the Seahawks is now about 12 hours away. And if the two sides are merging toward a deal, no one seems to know about it. There’s no buzz that anything is imminent as this is written at 10 p.m. Thursday.
But that’s not to say something couldn’t happen. Urgency often compels action, and maybe that can happen here.
Or, as ProFootballTalk postulated Thursday night, the two sides could keep talking past the deadline. Obviously, there’s nothing stopping the two sides from continuing to negotiate once the season starts.
