Spokane criminal faces 30th felony charge

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane criminal accused of attempting to rob a Chinese restaurant is now facing his 30th felony charge.

KXLY-TV reports that 11 months after his release from jail for assaulting a police dog, Cephas Parham was taken into custody Monday after he was seen fleeing the Peking North restaurant.

Police say as Parham ran from the restaurant, he pulled a realistic looking replica pistol on the officer chasing him. The officer fired but missed. Once he dropped the replica weapon, the officer fired a Taser at Parham and took him into custody.

On Tuesday, Parham appeared in court as the judge read his long criminal history that includes 29 felony convictions since 1990.
