BERKELEY, Calif. (May 14, 2023) – struck out six in seven innings and homered twice as Washington State clinched the series with a 7-1 win over Cal at Evans Diamond Sunday afternoon.
WSU improved to 29-20 overall and 10-16 in Pac-12 Conference play, matching the most wins since the 2015 team won 29 games. The Cougars, who stole five bases Sunday, took two of three in 2021 and have won back-to-back series in Berkeley for the first time since 1999 and 2001. WSU scored in each of the first three innings for a 4-1 lead before adding two in the fifth and one in the sixth to clinch the series over Cal who dropped to 22-25 overall and 10-17 in conference play.
